I am a 28-year-old recovering addict.  I am currently incarcerated due to my love affair with drugs and drug dealing.  All my drug and legal problems began a few years ago when I got with a man who promised to change my life, and that he did.  He was 10 years older than me and already had a strong addiction to pills.  When we got together all the partying and pill-popping began.  I didn’t know what I was getting into.  From pills to heroin and everything in between.  I couldn’t stop even if I wanted to.  The drugs had too strong of a hold on me.  It was bad enough I was doing them, however, to support our habit I was selling drugs, too.  Looking back at the worst day of my life – the day I got arrested and my legal troubles began – my worst day is the day that saved my life.

“Don’t look to your past, at all the bad things that have happened to you…look back at all the things that have made you a better person.”
