I am 28 years old and a recovering addict, and I am a mother of 2. I was adopted at birth and raised in a perfect Christian family. I married young and had my first child (a daughter) at 23. She has congenital heart disease and has had two open heart surgeries and multiple minor surgeries. The stress of dealing with that caused my drug use to spiral out of control. In a matter of months I found myself pregnant again, divorced and homeless. After having my son, I chose to put him up for adoption and to give him the best life possible. My actions and inability to stop using drugs landed me in jail. I am currently incarcerated on a 4-year sentence. Today I strive to be the best mother to my kids and give them the life they deserve. I am so grateful to have another chance to fulfill my dreams. – Jennifer
