I am 34 years old and the proud mother of a 12-year-old daughter.  About 3 years ago, I started hanging around the wrong group of people who would go out and steal.  Because I would be out with them while they were doing it, I started to do it because it looked and seemed easy.  However, about 1 year ago, I got caught and was placed on probation, which I violated 9 months ago, and now I’m serving 1 year in jail.  Jail has really opened up my eyes, and I’ve learned that this is not the place for me.  Every day I thank God for me being here and only having to serve a year.  Soon my time here in this facility will expire, but my life will go on, and I still have a loving and caring family who has stuck by me through all of this.  Because of my strength, I am forever grateful for all that I’ve been through.
